Performance Testing
In our ColorLab we get to test the performance of new products in terms of inks, coatings and adhesives. Qualifying different materials, paper and board to ensure they will hold up to our customer and market demands.
Colour & Substrate Proofing
Colour proofing is accurate and on demand, supplying printers and brand owners with colour swatches on their substrate of choice. All our proofs are measured on an international colour standard within Delta E tolerance. These colour standards can be sent as a physical swatch on the required substrate or sent digitally via our ColorCloud™.
Tools of the Lab
Spectrometer
A spectrophotometer is an instrument used to measure colour. This produces a light beam containing wavelengths in a narrow band around a selected wavelength. The spectro measures L* a* b* values accurately and within defined measurements. The Spectro is key to our ColorTeq system.
Draw Downs
We use automated proofers, hand proofers, and K-bars to achieve the necessary results our customers are looking for. This also helps us with different print applications, in terms of printings inks, coatings and adhesives. These include, UVH, UVB, UVC and UVA curing, not excluding conventional water based and solvent based cure.
Grind Guage
Also known as a grindometer, it is an instrument which indicates the fineness of grind or the presence of coarse particles and agglomeration in an ink or coating. It is commonly used to determine how finely ground the particles of a pigment dispersion are. The resulting properties of the dispersion vary based on the size of individual particles and the degree which they are dispersed or grind.
